Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 18, 2026. This policy describes how Accountability Tax Services PLLC, operating as Handled Tax, collects, uses, and safeguards information.

Who we are

Handled Tax is the operating brand of Accountability Tax Services PLLC, a solo practitioner accounting firm owned and operated by Amanda Emerdinger. For questions about this policy, email amanda@handledtax.com.

Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly when you fill out our contact form, engage us as a client, or communicate with us. This may include your name, email, phone number, business details, and information you submit for tax preparation, bookkeeping, or advisory services.

We also receive limited analytics data about visits to this website, including browser type, general location, and pages viewed. This analytics data does not identify you personally.

Use of TaxDome

All client documents and messaging flow through TaxDome, our secure client portal. When you become a client, TaxDome collects and processes the information you share there (including tax documents, e signatures, and messages) on our behalf. TaxDome maintains its own privacy and security policies, and documents are encrypted in transit and at rest within the platform.

How we use information

  • To deliver the professional services you hire us for.
  • To communicate with you about your return, your books, or your engagement.
  • To comply with legal, tax, and regulatory requirements.
  • To improve and secure this website.

We do not sell your information. Ever.

Who we share information with

We share information only as needed to deliver services or comply with the law. That may include TaxDome, our tax preparation software vendor, the IRS and state taxing authorities, and cloud hosting providers. We do not share your information for marketing.

Security

We use industry standard safeguards including encrypted transport, strong authentication, and reputable cloud vendors. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your information the way we'd want ours treated.

Retention

We retain client files and tax records for the periods required by federal and state law and professional standards, typically at least seven years. When we no longer have a legal or professional reason to keep your information, we delete or destroy it.

Your choices

You can request a copy of the information we hold about you, correct inaccurate information, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Email amanda@handledtax.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Cookies

This site uses functional cookies required to operate the site and limited analytics cookies to understand traffic patterns. You can disable cookies in your browser at any time.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
