About

Hi, I'm Amanda.

I'm the person behind Handled Tax. I'm a mom, a small business owner, and a CPA who's been filing returns for real people and real businesses since 2014.

Portrait coming soon.

My story

From brick and mortar to built for the long haul.

I opened Accountability Tax Services in 2014. For the first few years I ran it out of a physical office. I had more clients back then, but if I'm being honest, not the right ones. Most people who walked in were looking for a cheaper, small town version of H&R Block. Fast in, fast out, lowest price possible.

That's not the work I wanted to be doing. I want to know about my clients' lives. I want to hear about the new baby, the business they're building, the year they bought a rental property. I want to send Christmas cards and watch kids grow up. I don't thrive on volume. I thrive on depth.

So I made a change. My family and I relocated to Northwest Arkansas. I closed the storefront on purpose. I rebuilt the practice around a small number of clients, all remote, all across the country. Same standards. Better fit.

"I want to know about my clients' lives, send them Christmas cards cause I want them to see our son grow up, and hear about what they need to support them. That personal feeling, I want to keep no matter what I do."

Timeline

How the practice has grown.

2014

Founded Accountability Tax Services PLLC. Started with individual returns and small business clients.

2015 through 2020

Built a brick and mortar practice. Took on hundreds of clients a season. Learned exactly who I wanted to serve, and who I didn't.

2021

Closed the physical office. Rebuilt the firm remote first so I could serve the right clients anywhere in the country, not just the ones who walked in the door.

2023

Moved my family to Northwest Arkansas. Smaller roster, deeper work, and room for the life I actually want to live.

2026

Launched Handled Tax as the client facing brand, same legal entity, same solo practitioner, with the systems to match the relationships.

  • Secure client portal through TaxDome. All documents encrypted in transit and at rest.
How I work

Solo on purpose. Modern by design.

Being a solo practitioner isn't a limitation for the clients I serve. It's the whole point. You want the same person who knows your business to be the one filing your return. That's me. Every time.

Communication

Email is my default. I reply within a business day most of the time. Calls are scheduled so I can give you actual attention instead of triaging three things at once.

Tools

TaxDome for everything client facing. Secure document upload, e signatures, invoicing, and a client portal that keeps your history in one place. No back and forth email attachments.

Pace

I cap the number of clients I take. When I'm full, I'm full. That's how I keep the depth of attention I promise every single person I work with.

Tax season

Early intake, clear deadlines, and no last minute scrambles on my end. If something's going sideways I'll tell you fast so we can plan.

Off the clock

A little about who I am outside the returns.

I'm raising a young family in Northwest Arkansas. My husband and I have a son, and twins who keep life loud and full. A lot of the reason I built the firm the way I did is so I can actually be present at home and still do excellent work for the people who hire me.

I really do send Christmas cards. I really do want to know about your family. I will ask about the kids, remember the name of the dog, and probably comment on the house you're thinking about buying. This isn't a gimmick. It's just how I like to work.

If you want a tax person who treats you like a transaction, I'm not her. If you want a tax person who'll still be around in ten years and will notice when something in your life changes, that's the point of the whole practice.
